Welcome to AvAlert's Senior Capstone Design Project Portfolio. Within this section of our site, you can find all of the inner workings for the year long process we went through to develop AvAlert. Inside, you will find the problem statement and the purpose behind creating AvAlert, the research and literature review we conducted to set the stage, the nitty gritty of our design process and prototyping, our data collection and analysis of AvAlert, and the individual reflections of the project as a whole. All of this falls under our work as a part of Senior Design for our Capstone: STEM class, where AvAlert began. Senior Design holds the purpose of rounding out our engineering careers at Ralston Valley by creating a year long engineering project from start to finish, representing the highest characteristics of the engineering design process and beyond. This included getting feedback from real stakeholders, meeting deadlines and STEM requirements, creating presentations and panels to show our work, and prototyping a device and solution that solves a real world, applicable and testable problem. In addition, going through the real process of what it is like to be an engineer in the real world, where you have to hit client requirements and create a real solution sharpens our engineering acumen and is a representation of our best work as a result of our STEM education here at Ralston Valley.
